James Scott wins the prestige Wembley Wassail
On 3rd January, James raced on his "other" home water, the Welsh Harp at Wembley and took the first prize position for the prestigious Wembley Wassail silver trophy bowl, an annual open pursuit race for all junior, youth and adult classes sailed on the Welsh Harp.
First presented in 1967, James is the first in the Optimist Class and youngest sailor to have won this trophy........James' race was just short of two hours long in near freezing conditions.... James was a little confused when he found the bowl had been smartly removed from its base, placed on the dining table with a silver ladle and filled with warm festive liquor.........it has now been cleaned and polished to take pride position amongst his other trophies for 2009.
