Scrapping of Unclaimed Trolleys - message for members
Scrapping of Unclaimed Trolleys
At the Autumn Work Party a number of trolleys and parts of trolleys were found around the Club site that did not have identification on them and therefore could not be attributed to an owner. These were removed to the area between the sheds and the main car park.
It is intended to recycle these trolleys for scrap (the majority are not viable in any case) unless owners claim them before Monday 8th February and lovingly restore them to their allocated berth.
Can I remind all members that it is a Club Bye Law that if you do store trolleys at the Club on your berth then “its ownership is clearly identified” also “that it is securely locked” That will save the berthing officer, Luigi Gartner, many hours of work trying to work out which trolleys belong to which members in the future. To assist with this, in your renewal pack this year (due out in the next few weeks); you will be issued with two boat stickers, one for your dinghy and the other for your trolley. We would ask that these are affixed as soon as practicable and well before the spring work party when again the berthing officer will be culling unaccounted for trolleys and boats. From a crime prevention point of view, it is well worth stamping your house number and post code on your trolley in case anything untoward should happen to it - it can then be returned to you.
Your co-operation in this matter will be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Frank Brown
Rear Commodore
