Welcome to the Topper class at Papercourt. The Topper is fun to sail, can be managed by sailors of all ages and has a very active and competitive open meeting scene. At Papercourt we have a large number of active sailors at all levels. There are currently seven sailors in squads, from National squad to SE Zone squad and at least that number again who regularly travel to open meetings and compete at National level. Many of these sailors can also be regularly seen racing at Papercourt and we encourage others to come and join them. To help develop our members, between Easter and October there are regular Saturday morning training for sailors of all levels, delivered by experienced trainers, coaches and previous Topper squad sailors. The momentum is maintained during the winter months with a series of six coaching days, attracting a core of approximately fifteen sailors. Training days and times are coordinated with the Optimist class in recognition of the number of families with sailing children of varying ages, however access to training is not the preserve of our younger members but structured to improve and develop the skills of anyone interested in sailing the Topper. If you want to improve come and join us.

There are now three club Toppers available for hire. Equipment for the hire boats is secured in the club and the masts and sails are stored ready rigged. Payment for hire is administered by the OOD on organized club sailing days, or through the class captain or other organizer on winter training days.
