Training at Papercourt
At Papercourt we try to provide the courses that members request, from complete beginners – both adult and children - Seamanship, Spinnaker, Race Training, Race Officer, and Power boat. Many of our young sailors have graduated to Regional and National squads.
The RYA powerboat course is to promote a good standard of safety boat cover for our racing, and we are pleased to note that it is always over subscribed.
For the established sailor there is training on Saturdays during the winter which takes the form of class specific race training organised by Class Captains. Click on the Supported Classes menu for details.
We sponsor suitably qualified members to become RYA Instructors, and organise Training courses and club Racing coach courses at Papercourt. In return we ask for some help on our training courses throughout the year.
Our qualified RYA instructors are freely available and willing to help. If you would like more information about any aspect of our training, please Email us .
RYA TRAINING 2012
*** Papercourt training is only available for members ***
Papercourt is a members only club. The instructors are volunteer club members
giving their time for the benefit of fellow members, which is why we run a limited
number of courses. For this reason and for legislative reasons, regrettably we simply are not able
to accept non-members on our courses.
As a Non-member, you are welcome to apply to join our extremely vibrant club, but be
aware that applications involve a meeting with a member of the committee, can take some weeks and you are making a
commitment as a new member to the life of the club. If this is not for you at this stage, we recommend you attend a
course at a club which is able to cater for non members on their courses (perhaps Queen Mary Sailing Club or Horseshoe Lake) and then, when you have decided this sport is for you, come and
talk to us about membership.
